Data deletion instructions

Effective date: September 22, 2026

Last updated: September 22, 2026

Anyone may request deletion of personal data held by Revent, without a fee and without having to explain why. Deletion is subject to the limited records Revent must retain to prove and enforce consent or opt-out choices, protect security and prevent fraud, comply with law, preserve required transaction records, and prove that the request was fulfilled.

1. Request deletion by email

Email hello@getrevent.com with the subject "Data deletion request." Include:

  • The phone number you used with Revent;
  • Your email address, if you provided one; and
  • The organizer or event you interacted with, if known. This helps us locate records but is not required.

You do not need to provide a reason.

You may also make a clear privacy or deletion request by replying through the same WhatsApp or other messaging channel through which Revent or the organizer contacted you. You do not need to use an exact keyword. Revent will route an organizer-controlled request to the relevant organizer and record the action taken.

2. Request deletion through Meta

If Meta offers the deletion option for your connection to Revent, remove Revent in your Facebook or Meta app settings and request deletion. Meta sends Revent a signed deletion request. Revent verifies the signature, opens the deletion request, and returns to Meta an alphanumeric confirmation code and a URL where the request's status can be checked.

3. How we verify the request

We take reasonable steps to confirm that the request comes from the person whose data is involved. We may match the phone number or email address to our records and may ask you to confirm control of that phone number or email address. We request only the information reasonably necessary to verify and fulfill the request.

4. What we delete

Subject to the limited exceptions below, we delete personal data from Revent's active systems, including as applicable:

  • Your Revent customer or account profile and active sessions;
  • Customer and audience records maintained in Revent for the organizers you interacted with. Revent notifies the organizer and deletes the data from Revent as the organizer instructs or as applicable law and Meta terms require;
  • Event-page, checkout, campaign-attribution, click, and conversion records linked to you;
  • Message content, media, identifiers, and delivery records that Revent stores on an organizer's behalf;
  • Receipt and ticket-delivery records linked to your email address;
  • Support data not required to document the request; and
  • Meta Platform data held by Revent that is subject to the verified request. Revent deletes this Platform Data rather than substituting deidentification for deletion.

We also disconnect or delete organizer-owned Meta credentials and business-asset data when the organizer disconnects, closes its account, or sends a valid deletion instruction.

5. What we retain and why

We retain only the records reasonably necessary for the following purposes:

  • Marketing authorization and withdrawal: minimum consent, withdrawal, and organizer-specific suppression records needed to prove the person's choice and prevent further marketing unless the person opts in again;
  • Security and fraud prevention: minimum verification-request, transaction-security, audit, abuse, and fraud records needed to protect accounts and transactions, investigate incidents, and defend claims;
  • Legal and financial compliance: purchase, payment, tax, accounting, and other records that applicable law requires Revent or an organizer to retain;
  • Deletion proof: the request, verification, confirmation code, disposition, and completion record needed to demonstrate that the request was fulfilled; and
  • Legal holds and claims: records that must be preserved for a valid legal hold, court order, investigation, or establishment or defense of legal claims.

These retained records are restricted to the stated purpose and are not used to send marketing. They are deleted or deidentified when the retention purpose ends, unless law requires a longer period.

The security and fraud-prevention exception does not permit Revent to keep WhatsApp message content, media, or raw Meta Platform Data after a valid deletion request unless a specific law requires that exact data to be retained. Where possible, retained security evidence is minimized or deidentified and access-restricted.

Protected backup copies age out under the applicable backup cycle. If a backup must be restored for disaster recovery, the deletion restriction is reapplied before the restored data is returned to ordinary use.

6. How long the request takes

We fulfill a verified request within the period required by applicable law. Where a shorter period does not apply, our target is 30 calendar days.

For people in Colombia, a deletion or revocation request is resolved as a complaint within 15 business days counted from the day after receipt. If more time is needed, Revent will explain the reason and the resolution date; the extension may be up to 8 additional business days.

If a Colombian complaint is incomplete, Revent will request the missing information within 5 days. If it is not supplied within 2 months, the complaint may be treated as abandoned as permitted by law.

We confirm completion by replying to the requester's email or through the Meta status URL, as applicable.

7. Organizer and provider records

Revent deletes the data it independently controls, subject to the limited exceptions above. For organizer-controlled data held in Revent, Revent forwards the verified request to the organizer and deletes the data from Revent at the organizer's instruction or when applicable law or Meta terms require direct deletion. Revent also notifies or coordinates with relevant processors when required. An organizer, Meta, a payment provider, or another party may independently control records received outside Revent or required under its own legal obligations, and its own privacy procedure may also apply.

8. Stop organizer marketing without deleting your account

To stop WhatsApp or other organizer marketing, reply STOP or a similar recognized instruction, contact the organizer, or email hello@getrevent.com. We apply the suppression to that organizer's campaigns. A minimum suppression record remains so the opt-out continues to work.
